Disorders for Women

Health issues that affect the female reproductive system, including the uterus, ovaries,
fallopian tubes, external genitalia, and breasts.

Common hormonal problems include:

  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): A condition causing hormonal imbalance,

leading to irregular periods, excessive hair growth, and ovarian cysts.

  • Dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation): often characterized by cramps, lower

abdominal pain, nausea, and headaches.

  • Endometriosis: is a painful condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus

grows outside it, causing symptoms like pelvic pain, heavy periods, and infertility.

  • Irregular Periods: refer to menstrual cycles that are inconsistent in length, duration,

or flow, often caused by hormonal imbalances, stress, lifestyle factors, or underlying
health conditions like PCOS or thyroid disorders.

  • Polycystic Ovary Disorder (PCOD): A hormonal disorder marked by irregular

periods, excess androgen (male hormones) and cysts in the ovaries. It can lead to
infertility, weight gain, and other metabolic issues.

  • Menopause: usually occurring between ages 45-55, marked by the cessation of

periods and hormonal changes, leading to symptoms like hot flashes and mood
swings, vaginal dryness, and sleep disturbances

  • Fertility problems – leading to inability to conceive after one year of regular,

unprotected intercourse. Causes in women may include ovulatory disorders, blocked
fallopian tubes, or hormonal imbalances.
